HASAN KAFI PRUŠČAK AL-AQHISARI (1544-1615)
is a pillar of the pillars of the Hanafi-Maturidite tradition that is still dominating the Ottoman Islamic cultural zone. His Islamic Summa Theologiae Raivdat al-Jannat (Meadoivs ofthe Gardens) is the continuity of the Bosnian memory of religious and cultural identity. Hence, Ibrahim M. Zein’s translation of this Capital work of Muslim theology is a great contribution to the study of the Ottoman Islamic legacy as well as to the Islamic tradition of Bushnaqs or Bošnaks. And Fikret Karčic s introduction provides a helpful guidance to both theological and intellectual history of the experience of Islam in Bosnia.
